Revadim – a nationwide initiative to support elementary schools in the periphery, developed out of the experience we gained with JDC Israel in comprehensive school interventions that provide a broad solution to all school pupils – enveloping them with educational, social and emotional support to help every child realize his or her potential.
After implementing these interventions in different versions for several years, we brought them all together into one framework while refining the concept and methodology in both theory and practice. The initiative began in the 2010-1 school year and now includes more than 70 schools with 20,000 pupils.
Revadim targets low-performing schools with a high rate of under-achieving pupils, and offers them a range of pedagogic solutions and services that connect with and supplement the Ministry of Education's resources.
These solutions are offered in an integrative approach that takes into account the specific needs of each school and involves the entire school team in the process.
Our goal is to see measurable improvement in the management of the schools, the professional capability of their staff, the pupils’ achievements, the physical environment and the social climate, as well as the school’s connection to the community.
