Goal
To support the therapeutic program at Beit Noam (located in Kfar Mallal) that treats abusive men.

Overview
Beit Noam, established in 1997, is an intensive therapeutic/educational framework for men who were removed from their homes by court order because of physical abuse towards their spouses. The residents go to work in the morning and return to Beit Noam in the evening, when treatment programs - both individual and group therapy - take place. They are responsible for the maintenance of the home and participate in funding its operation.

The program is unique in that it targets the abusive man, while allowing the battered woman and her children to remain at home. This is the first framework of its kind and, as such, it is being closely followed by government policy makers. A team from the National Insurance Institute has evaluated the project and concluded that the model developed at Beit Noam is effective in preventing recurrence of domestic violence.
