Overview
Although the proportion of addicted adults in the South is similar to that of the country as a whole, there is at present no publicly-sponsored therapeutic community for drug addicts in the southern region.

At completion, the new therapeutic and rehabilitation village will contain residential units for 210 addicts, as well as staff housing, administration buildings, dining hall, recreation and activity areas, and rooms for therapy and counseling. Stage 1 construction will provide accommodation for 70 adults and 30 youth.

The therapeutic program employed by the village will be based on the principle of treating juvenile and adult residents within a comfortable and familiar setting, and includes the "12-Step Method". Youth residents will be expected to continue with their studies, while the adults will take part in programs that enhance their job skills. Eventually, the adults will receive vocational training or will work in industrial or tourism projects in the region.
