Overview
Tel Hai College is one of a rapidly growing number of academic colleges in Israels periphery that are offering young adults from disadvantaged peripheral areas their first realistic chance to earn an advanced degree. Since it became an academic college in 1995, Tel Hai has become a popular higher education alternative, with over 7,000 part- and full-time students. Due to this development, there is a greater need for affordable housing near the college. It is estimated that within three years, several hundred additional rooms will be needed in order to keep up with the pace of student enrollment.
As well as offering good-quality and affordable housing to the students, the project will also benefit the college by enabling it to diversify its student population. The town of Kiryat Shmona will gain by the injection of youthful, educated residents who can contribute to the community in various ways.
The two-stage construction will eventually allow for the accommodation of 500 students. In addition, the dormitory complex will include a central building containing various amenities, administrative offices, student resource facilities, a social and recreation center, and open spaces.
