Tel Hai Academic College - New Campus
Goal
To build a new campus so that the Tel Hai college can expand its student population and become a leading academic center in Israel.
Overview
Tel Hai College is one of a rapidly growing number of academic colleges in Israels periphery that are offering young adults from disadvantaged peripheral areas their first realistic chance to earn an advanced degree. Since it became an academic college in 1995, Tel Hai has become a popular higher education alternative, with over 3,000 part- and full-time students.
The New Campus is a multi-phased, $60 million project, with an approved Master Plan, that aims to enable the college to increase its student population to 7,000 by 2010. It is situated on 170 dunams of land, across the road from the existing campus and adjacent to the Tel Hai Industrial Park, and will encompass 7,500 square meters of built space.
Stage 1 will build two faculty buildings for Social Sciences and Humanities, including a library, 350-seat auditorium and full range of classrooms, lecture halls, laboratories, computer centers and multi-purpose spaces. Construction of these buildings is being managed by the Sacta-Rashi Foundation. The Departments of Education, General Studies, Economics and Management, and Psychology will move to the new faculty buildings when completed.
