Capital Projects
While Sacta-Rashi traditionally has preferred to invest in programs rather than in buildings, we often find ourselves unable to launch initiatives due to a lack of suitable physical facilities. As a result of the dearth of buildings and infrastructure, large population groups are prevented from receiving services they require. Our funding and operating partners - government ministries, local authorities, non-profit associations, private philanthropies - are either not experienced in leading construction projects, or cannot complete them within a reasonable time period because of budgetary constraints.

Over the past few years, therefore, we have decided to become more active in developing capital projects. We become involved at the development stage so that we can use the capital investment as leverage for influencing the way the facility is run once completed - our intervention usually combines construction funding or management coupled with program development or implementation. In many cases, our early-stage involvement serves as a catalyst for pooling the resources of government bodies, charitable organizations and private donors.

We are currently dealing with around 80 capital projects, at all stages from preparation to execution, that cut across all of our areas of activity. Our work in capital projects brings into play our regional and long-term perspective, as well as our understanding of the inter-related educational, welfare and health needs of a particular location. As construction tends to require substantial investment, we also assume a fundraising role and actively seek partners to complete projects, while offering them all naming opportunities.
