Elie Elalouf brings to his position at the Foundation over 30 years of experience at the Jewish Agency and Keren Hayesod, where he was instrumental in developing the Negev and building cooperation with Jewish communities abroad. He has also served as councillor in his hometown of Be'er Sheva.

Senior Vice President and Deputy Director General
Meir Elmaliah meir@sacta-rashi.org.il
Meir directed the Foundation's financial division since 1999 and was appointed senior VP in 2003. Previously, he was treasurer of several local and regional councils, as well as Director of the Foundation for the Development of Dimona. In his former career, he held various teaching and managment positions in southern schools, including principal for two years.

Strategic Advisor
Maj. Gen. (res.) Itzhak Brik
Maj. Gen. (res.) Itzhak Brik served as the commanding officer of the IDF National Defense Colege and was awarded the Medal of Courage for his conduct during the Yom Kippur War. Today he serves as advisor on strategic development of the Negev and Galilee at the Foundation. In addition he is Board Chairman of the Max Stern Academic College of Jezreel Valley. Brik holds a B.Sc. in Industry and Mangement Engineering from the Technion and a Masters degree in Public Policy from Tel Aviv University.

Vice President - Capital Projects
Arieh Halfin arieh@sacta-rashi.org.il
Arieh - a native-born Israeli - has worked at the Foundation since 1998. Previously, he was at the United Israel Appeal for 22 years, the six last years in the position of Director of Projects. During his stint at the UIA he served as emissary to England for the Jewish Israel Appeal and Federation of Zionist Youth.

Director of Partnership Development
Ronit Segelman ronits@sacta-rashi.org.il
Ronit joined the Foundation in 2006, after five years as founder and director of the Queen Esther Foundation. She previously served as a community and aliyah emissary in Denver, CO. and subsequently the Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado's first Israel representative.

Director of Northern Office
Mordechay Cohen mordechay@sacta-rashi.org.il
Mordechay has led the northern team of the Foundation since 2000. He is a graduate of the Mandell School for Educational Leadership, and has an MBA in managing educational systems. His previous professional experience includes working with teenage girls at risk, and teaching at a Jerusalem school.

Director of Social Welfare and Health Programs
Mimi Ackerman mimi@sacta-rashi.org.il
Mimi joined the Foundation in mid-2004 after seven years at the Joint Distribution Committee, where she worked mainly in the area of early childhood. She was the JDC representative on the early childhood committee of the Coalition for the Advancement of Ethiopian Education, and was one of the founding staff of Ashalim (JDC's arm for children at risk).

Legal Advisor

Avi came to the Foundation in 2003 from 5 years' working in private legal firms. He completed his law studies in London.

Advisor on Programs for Substance Abuse
Francoise Hoffman
At the Foundation since 2002, Francoise is a social worker specializing in drug abuse. She has extensive experience in working with various populations through local authorities, including serving as director of the Central Fund for the Development of Services for the Retarded in Local Councils.

Director of Nationwide Education Programs

After 25 years at the Society for the Advancement of Education, Michael Chen became the founding director of the Association for Change in Education, established in 2004. Michael's academic qualifications are in the sphere of social work and business administration.

Director of Tafnit
Nissim Cohen nisim@madarom.org.il
Nissim has worked with low-performing school children for twenty years, focusing in the early years of his career on drop-out youth. Since the 1990s he has developed and directed several programs aimed at increasing the number of pupils sitting and passing matricultion exams. He has led the Tafnit program since its launch in 2000.

Director of Nutrition Programs
Michael Abramovitz taf_avram@sacta-rashi.org.il
After being a teacher at a Jerusalem school, and then the principal of a boarding school, Michael joined the Association for the Advancement of Education where he worked for seven years before he and other senior staff took up their positions in the newly-formed Association for Change in Education (a subsidiary of Sacta-Rashi) in 2004.
