Organizational Structure

The Rashi Foundation is an independent private fund incorporated abroad. The Foundation was established and financed by a philanthropic family and other individuals deeply committed to the State of Israel. In Israel, the Foundation is represented by a charitable entity ("amuta" in Hebrew) that serves as its implementation arm. Members of the Amuta include family representatives and an Advisory Board of prominent Israeli leaders from industry and academia.

Mr. Hubert Leven has led the Foundation as President since its establishment in 1984. Mr. Leven was CEO of the brokerage firm Société de Bourse Leven, Paris. He also served on the Executive Committee of Source Perrier, and as CEO of a number of its subsidiaries. With a long record of community service, Mr. Leven presently serves as Executive Vice-President of Kol Israel Haverim (KIAH), Israel, and as Vice-President of Alliance Israélite Universelle, Paris.

Professional Team
The Amuta in Israel is led by an experienced team of professionals with a mandate to initiate new programs, respond to requests, and monitor existing programs. The professional team in Israel is led by the General Director, Elie Elalouf, and supported by program-area directors, legal and financial departments, and administrative staff. The combined talents and efforts of family representatives, Advisory Board members and professional staff enable the Foundation to develop and implement programs quickly and effectively.

Subsidiary Amutot
In order to make our operations more efficient, transparent and measurable, the Foundation has four subsidiary amutot: Association for Change in Education the operating body of the Full School and Enriched School Day Programs, Tafnit Program of accelerated learning, Katzir Scholarship Fund and other educational initiatives that are implemented nationwide Northern Goals the Foundation's operating body in the north of Israel Yahdav the Foundation's operating body in the south of Israel Beit Yatziv an educational campus in Be'er Sheva Horizon a newly-established vehicle for developing and operating solutions for youth at risk, with a focus on programs to prevent and treat substance abuse and violence Keren Shemesh founded with the Edmond J. Safra Philanthropic Foundation to grant loans and mentoring to young entrepreneurs
